At Least I can Still Smoke in My Car!

I just saw that on the bumper of a rusted out blazer. I thought it was odd for a number of reasons:
1) If you have nothing of relevance to add, by all means stick it on your vehicle
2) Is the fact that you like to smoke supposed to endear you to other drivers?
3) Is the fact that you can't smoke in my face supposed to outrage me (get me on your side?)
4) Are you complaining of loss of rights? Because for years you've had the right to cause cancer in people you don't even know... What about our rights?

I just thought that it was the strangest thing. I think it's nutty how smokers want to try to refute the 'smoking is bad for you and those around you' type of logic. Not everything people like to do should be allowed in all public places, things like:
Having sex, masturbating, doing drugs, picking their noses, listening to explicit songs, looking at porn...
I could think of many others. Sure everyone should have the right to do what they want when in private (well the drugs are still illegal, but you know what I mean). But any of those behaviors at a restaurant or a bar will get you into trouble, tossed out if not arrested. There is a time and place for anything, especially if it can hurt others around you.
Tell me where I'm wrong.

I like how you snuck 'picking noses' in with all that other. Haha

Thank you annulla, I didn't think so. They will make a bumper sticker about almost anything.

Wow I think that is a bit harsh. Maybe she really wishes she hadn't done it and it has haunted her and ruined her. Isn't that at least possible?
Obviously I never did that but I know that if I had there wouldn't ever be even one day when it didn't cross my mind. And certainly it would've tainted the joy I felt the first time I held my little girls.
I'm pro choice but I think that is a very bad choice to make in many cases. There are so many things that come into play, but the mother's emotions (shame, guilt, pressure from parents/boyfriend, conscious,) her upbrining (and what value does one put on a life? any life? were you raised by people who taught you respect for all creatures or someone who killed small animals for fun, her religion, her stregth and confidence (yes you can be a mom, you can face your parents, you can live without this boyfriend if he doesn't want to be a part of it). There are literally thousands of things that enter into a decision like that. That's why I am pro choice, because it depends an awful lot on so many individual things. And I feel that unless you were raped it is really wrong to do. You go into sex consensually knowing the possible outcomes (if you are a mature and willing participant). Mom told me that her father told her that you shouldn't mess around with anyone that you wouldn't want to be permanently associated with. That's really good advice. And if you are doing it just for fun, be damn sure you don't make a baby (that is my own advice, not my grandpa there).
I think it is crazy to say that it never ruins the 'would be' mother's life. I'm sure that happens sometimes.
