What's New?

Well, having two kids in school and working is a real challenge. I’ve never felt so much like life is out of control. My house is messy, I’m not sleeping nearly enough, everyone is run-down and crabby. The quality of meals in our house is rapidly deteriorating. I’m only human, and yet I still feel so sub-standard. You know, everyone else can do it, why can’t I? Yet I spend about 3 hours every Saturday on my kids’ ballet classes. Then I spend another 3+/week on cheerleading. Then there are social obligations. There is no time left for me.

I would like to soak in the tub with some Natalie Merchant music and a glass of wine. We’ll call that my vacation. I’ll let you know when I get around to that.

Meanwhile I’ve got some very very exciting news. I am getting a new mattress delivered on Saturday. I don’t know that I’ve blogged about this, and until I am satisfied I don’t want to name the company responsible. But the bed we’ve shared for the past 3 years looks like a giant W. There are large human depressions in it. It looks as if a couple of whales have been wallowing there for a few years (and we just aren’t THAT big!!).
So I am getting my dental ‘night guard’ today I believe, which will ease the pain in my jaw!! The new mattress is arriving on Saturday, which should ease the pain in my back(and his). So at least for the 5 or 6 hours that I am in the bed, I may actually rest. (ahhhh)

Actually, last night I think I was asleep by 10:30 and I got up today at 5:20, so I was quite close to a good amount of sleep.

I’m going stag to a wedding on Saturday. I am very much looking forward to this. A lot of good friends will be there, and I will be dancing which is one of my absolute favorite things to do (when I actually get to choose!). A shout out to Heather for (again) lending me something to wear. I can think of at least 3 weddings where I wore one of Heather’s dresses!!! Thanks H! This will be fun.

Open house tonight at the school. Get to meet my daughter’s teacher finally. I’m looking forward to this also.
