Bad Commutes and Barf

I tried to blog last night, but something was wrong with my connection and the Net was just too damn slow (and I use dial-up so you know it had to be really slow to foil me).

For two days running (mon-tues) I had horrible commutes due to a semi which struck a gaurdrail and some concrete bridge pillars at 5:00am on Monday. ODOT has been working non stop since then and traffic has been hideous. Doubled my commute on Monday and added 20 min on Tuesday. So I got to the daycare late to get my daughter, who had just been kicked in the face accidentally by some other girl. I guess the offender appologized, so I didn't make a fuss. But I was so pissed at myself for being late!

So at 3:00 my older daughter (5 yrs) walked into our room. "Mommy, I thought I was just dreaming that I threw up but then I woke up and realized that it was really real."
Turns out she sat up, puked (mostly) over the side of the bed, laid back down and slept. She woke when her foot landed in the vomit which was spilling over the side of the bed (most of it landed on the bedroom carpet).

So, after washing her hair, her face, her hands, and brushing her teeth, I stripped and cleaned the bed, and then broke out the carpet cleaning machine I have (the second time in just as many blog posts). So then I went downstairs, brought back with me some diet ginger ale, a puke pail, and some fresh bedding from the cedar chest.

I got us all settled and then I laid down with her (I think it was after 4 at this time). She couldn't settle. Kept talking and asking me questions and reminiscing about the last time she threw up. I called my boss and left a voicemail, I called my mother (who usually watches them while I'm working). Finally I fell asleep. My husband came into her room and woke me up when his alarm went off. I went back to my bed for a little more rest. She seems tired, and a little off her game. The other one seems fine... so far. I'm tired too, think I'm going to take a shower now.

Funny, Vern read about my weekend and said,"rough weekend huh?" I had thought I had a pretty good and somewhat typical weekend. Just shows you how things change with your perspective. (he has no kids). But really it wasn't a bad weekend. If he reads this post and says "rough night" I'll have to agree though.

God, I hate the puke. Probably not as much as you right now.

Well, she's not her self right now, but she isn't throwing up (or producing any other disgusting smells sounds etc...) It is sad though to watch them just sit or lay around, zoned out, no play. Not normal!!

I'm sure, one day, I will be able to con some poor women into being the mother of my children, and I gotta say, I'm not looking forward to the puking. God, I hate vomit.

Oh Phil,
You know 'the wife' will clean it all up. That's what we were put on this earth for (don't you know)?

No no, I'm all for equality, I'd clean it up as well. Besides, there's no assurances that I'll find someone that can handle it.

All men 'SAY' they will help. They have low tolerance to stinky disgusting jobs.
It's cute that you think you are differnt.
And Luke is right vern, there is no teaching.

I okay with disgusting things. Living with three girls that couldn't hold their drink for a couple of years meant lots of puke cleaning.

But we'll go with it up to the point when you said I was cute.
