Oh where oh where can my doctor be?
Well I'm having a frustrating week, considering that it started on Wednesday! I found out that my OB/GYN left his practice. Now I am hunting for him like crazy! If you have never been lucky enough to find that one doctor that you can tell anything to (I mean ANYTHING) without embarassment, the doctor who makes you feel important, the one who really seems to care how you are feeling, not just physically but emotionally, then you won't understand. But my doctor is all that and more. He's actually one of those people that you meet in life who makes you want to be a better person, to acomplish more, to handle stress better. He's so amazing, that you feel like a fool for complaining about your job. Anyway, I had a concern that caused me to go in this week. I was told when I called that my doc 'had nothing available' so I agreed to see his partner. It was only while I sat draped in a gown waiting that I overheard the bad news. I heard the receptionist explaining to someone who called that my doctor had left the practice as of Jan 1. I felt so abandoned, and yet I know that if he could have, he would have informed his patients in advance. I think that disolving a partnership, or a business can be tricky, even if your clients are really patients. Well thank goodness I'm not close to giving birth and finding this out. Anyway, that is the big news this week. And I have so many friends who go to him. The friends that recommended him to me, and all those I sent to him. I told them each, "You will never again dread going to the gynechologist." And after seeing him they all agreed. I only hope I wasn't wrong about that, and that we will find his new place and the insurance will work out and all.
He delivered both my girls, surgically. He did it quickly and without incident. To me he is a god. Wish me (us) luck in locating him.

Were I feeling crass I'd make a very British gynechologist joke, but I won't.
I hope you're able to locate him, and whatever you went in for is all sorted out.
Yes, definitely good luck.
