Long Steakhorns
That's what my daughter used to call the Longhorn Steakhouse. Uncle Mark arrived today, we planned to dine out tonight, which with two little ones limits our choices. We tried to think of a place we could make a reservation at, but to no avail. Many places have call ahead seating. So I called Long Steakhorn's, told them 6 of us were coming, we'd like non-smoking... they told me the wait was about 70 minutes. The hubby called Outback for a comparison, and got the same story.
We got there and were told we had 30-40 min left to wait. We sat at the bar, had a few drinks. Well thanks to some incredibly rude people who didn't realize there were tens of others waiting for dinner (children among us for god's sake), we didn't get seated in 40 min, or 50 min. The kids were fed for free, and free appetizers were served. The manager was stressed and trying hard to be helpful. We finally got seated, over an hour after our arrival (and we got there 45 min after my initial call), in the smoking section. Argh, we got moved finally to our final seats. The final annoyance was that the seats were covered in the 'camper crumbs' from the rude people I've mentioned above. We ordered and had a really tastey meal. I'm sure people wondered why we had a 3 year old eating dinner at 9 o'clock, but what are you gonna do?
Consequently it is ten after 11 and my little ones are still awake and talkative. They get to bunk together when Uncle Mark is in town and my little ones room becomes our guest room. I'm about to go up now and pull the plug on their slumber party.
I've cleaned and shopped and cleaned and had the dinner out marathon, I feel like I'm going to drop! I just started reading another book, Dean Koontz, and I can't remember the name... But I'm liking it a lot, and I'll be sure to post the name here soon.
