Reading Slump

I haven't read much of anything since I finished that RNP book a week or two ago. I have just been very tired, and unable to get up for it. Weirdly I've started two books (one was started and then misplaced during the holidays, last year I think) and the other I did read a few pages of last week. But I don't remember what I read in the first, and I haven't gotten to the part where you are 'sucked in' in the 2nd. But I am wondering if my lack of reading is related to my 2 or 3 days of bad mood. It's either that or the old standby, hormones...

Busy Weekend

Well, we did go on that date on Friday (the husband and I that is). It was really fun. We had beers and sandwiches at the local bar (in our neck of the woods) so that we could eat quick and get to the movies. Saw Mission Impossible III. I loved it. We both did really. We literally watched it from the edge of our seats. It was fun, and we had popcorn :)
Then we went to a bar where my husband's friend was singing with a band. Due to the Cav's game and the late start, we didn't actually see the band play though. Too bad. I think his friend is a good lead man. But we did get to hang out and socialize with a few people we know. Then we picked up the kids and headed home.
Saturday was tough, we were all kinda tired. I took the girls to dance class, then to a birthday party. We got home around 2:30 and were all sleeping by 3. Slept until dinnertime and then went to a pizza place.
Sunday I gave the kids a bath, myself a shower and then to another birthday part. Cooked dinner after that and then mopped. I got a long and good night's rest though, so I'm not feeling too tired. Oak pollen is high today, this makes me feel like I cannot breath in spite of the Claritin and Flonaze!

Friday!

It's Friday and I have a date with my hubby tonight. To the singletons that may sound stupid because we live and sleep together, but time alone we rarely spend. Usually by the time the kids are sleeping, mommy is too, or trying to at least. We were considering seeing The Davinci Code, but the reviews are pretty bad, so I'm not too sure. I'm definitely going to see it on the big screen, but since my husband doesn't share my love of the book, I don't know if I should put him through that. But we are going to go out and do something. So that is good and I'm really looking forward to it. I feel bad that plan 'A' fell through. We were supposed to be leaving work after 1/2 a day and driving to Columbus for the NHRA event, but the forcast did us in!

Sinus

As you know if you read this a lot, I've been suffering with sinus trouble for a few months now. Last Tuesday I finally gave up and went to the Doc. I have a sinus infection. For the past week I've been taking Claratin every day (for the allergy symptoms) Antibiotics 3x/day, and when needed a decongestant/pain reliever when the pressure builds. I have only one antibiotic left and I still feel pretty crummy. Still having symptoms of the infections (although my glands aren't quite so swollen now). I'm thinking they should prescribe more antibiotics (though I hate being on them) because otherwise the infection will go nuts when I go off of them. I'm just so sick of being sick. Now I know how my hubby feels (well a touch of it anyway) with his asthma and associated issues. It's no fun. Plus I've been really tired throughout this whole ordeal.

I heard a Ratt song on the radio on my way to work (I should say THE Ratt song as I think they really only had one that got any air play). I loved these guys when I was 15!
I had this poster on my bedroom wall. My poor Grandma had to stay in my room when she visited.

Stage Fright

I dreamt last night that I was putting on a performance. It was for a large audience. The person organizing the show was my daughters' dance instructor (who I really like).
What kind of show was it?
Well that is where the dream gets embarrassing. If you were a little girl in the 70's you may have been obsessed with Barbie dolls. Well there was a toy that was just an almost life size Barbie Doll head. The purpose of this toy was so that you could put makeup on her and style her blonde hair however you wanted. She came with some makeup and hair accessories. I couldn't find a picture like the one I had, but this is a modern version of her. They have changed her bit so that her shoulders no longer sit in a tray where her cosmetics are kept.
Oh yes, so my act was to sing (keroke style, or lipsinc, not exactly sure which) Rick Springfield music whilst bobbing a Rick Springfield Fashion head in front of the audience (who wouldn't pay to see this?). But there was the need for much preparation beforehand. First I was to restyle this 80's relic toy from Rick's earlier 'do' to a the more modern look he has today. Also I had to find a shirt to put over his pink, traylike shoulders, and also practice my 'singing' and get the order of the music straight and figure out how to pull this off.

(rick then) (rick now)

Well true to my nature, I didn't do anything to prepare until the day of. I found a black t-shirt in my hubby's stuff and put it on the 'head' and I didn't bother to update poor Rick's look. I also did not practice or get the music thing worked out much. So fast forward to the show. People are there screaming and awaiting this show. I am on stage, freaking out because I don't know which track is the song "I Get Excited" (which if you are collecting Mary trivia is my favorite of his songs). So I keep advancing the player to the next track, hearing that it isn't the right song and moving on IN FRONT OF A LIVE AUDIENCE!! As you might've guessed I was booed off the stage. Not only that but someone actually sicked their two small dogs on me. I used my advanced understanding of dog body language (as it pertains to show of dominance) to scare them off. I was in tears. At the end of the dream I was talking with the dance instructor. I was apologizing for my miserable failure and she was consoling me and telling me that they put on a show after I left and that everyone was happy.

Wildlife sitings this week in my backyard...

Had visits from all of these guys this week. First time I've seen any of them this year. I feel like my friends are back. Except for the fox, that's only the 2nd time I have ever seen one on our property. These are; a red fox, a rubythroated hummingbird, a rose-breasted grosbeak, and a gray catbird.

The Grand ReOpening

Welcome to the Grand Re-Opening of the Ladies Restroom. Our restroom has been closed since sometime last summer. I have had to either go upstairs, or walk about 110 yards to a restroom. Finally the day has come. Not only is it open, the floor is shining, and the light, toilet, sink, towel and soap fixtures are all brand new. I knew in my heart that one day this day would come, it was even greater than I ever dreamed.

A word to the wise (especially if you are at work right now) use caution if you ever do a google image search for 'ladies room'. Some fairly interesting pictures come up (mostly the likes of which I've ever seen in an actual ladies room despite male fantasy). We don't go in pairs (or groups) so we can get it on in there! But hey, a guy can dream.

I went tanning at lunch with Heather, almost got to sleep before the warmth and light was gone. We're going out dancing this weekend. I am very much looking forward to that as I've been in a slight funk (the kind of funk where even BLOGGING doesn't seem like much fun).

What should I do with my life? I'd like to write a book or do something creative.
