My Midlife Crisis

I already know what you are thinking, "Mary, you are far too young to be having a midlife crisis." Well, I've colored my hair red, so you tell me. I have earned a MLC, last night was hell with my kids protesting dinner and my puppy protesting the whole housetraining process. I'm tired, slept like shit on my expensive Serta matress that has giant human indentatinons!!! This shouldn't happen with a mattress that is under two years old, and two humans neither of whom is even average sized (I am fairly certain we both fall below the median adult weight for our gender in this country). WTF?? My back is killing me and although I am hopeful that I haven't reached the midpoint of my life, I feel like I am well beyond, as I can't straighten up for the first 1/2 hour of every day. What a spectacle I make of myself walking the dogs hunched over in my jammies. Good thing nobody can see me.
Okay, all in all though, I feel very fortunate so I'll stop now!

lol... did the dying my hair red at 28
(not so *cough* long ago)
I did it before halloween
my daughter is a natural red head I am naturally blond everyone said I wonder what you would like with red hair (because she looks like me with red hair) So I did a "wash out in 8 washes" dye job
I went as a red headed sexy witch and then with each shampoo this dye wasnt washing out
5 bottles of shamppoo and I was calling the dye companty
9 months before it started to lighten up

I have never been as white blond again and people accuse me of having red highlights to this day

Hey Novy,
You must be very fair, that or your hair is porous. I have dk brown hair naturally. No gray yet, but it is the color of a field mouse slightly darker. So to add a bit of pizzaz, I color often. I thought this color would be a tad more brown, but it is called Darkest Mahagany Brown, with 'chocolate mousse' hilights. One of those Colour Experte kits where you do it all yourself. I do not feel like an expert as my choc. mousse is more orangey, luckily i didn't put a lot of hilights in. Reds fade on me pretty quick, but I am still toying with coloring the whole mess medium brown (over top of what I've got).

lol yes... I am white as a sheet like my mothers side (scot-irish) there are no blonds just red heads and brunettes
on my fathers side his father was german-norweigan heritage with more emph on German so tons of blonds
my fathers mother has cherokee-seminole and admixture of dirent white nations
she and dad were dark haired skin white but got that leathery red when they were in the sun
Daddy had blue eyes and Nana green (furthur back they eyes are brown but become bluer and bluer
mine are piercing blue at times like saphires and my skin like porclian )in color not texture) in my age I am getting that leather feel to my skin
but my hair even at 35 is blond
with some redish highlights
they said the dyem activated some genes I had
oh well -
my friend did dye jobs and it sounds like what she was using has a nice look funny for me I wouldnt but I find it very flattering and attractive on other women
I do perm my hair ever 6 months (I have bone straight hair and its hard to curl) I hate it love it curly

Ah, the perming probably does leave it more porous, meaning it sucks the hair dye in very deep. I have enormously curly hair, and I wear it straight mostly (kinda like my photo, but I grew out the bangs). Sometimes I wear it curly though, but the problem is that it's too BIG if I don't beat it into submission...
We girls, always want what we don't have.
Anyway, I washed it today and more hair dye rinsed away, although the color doesn't seem to have faded. Still not sure if I like or hate it.
